American rap prodigy Mac Miller is set to will return for the GO:OD AM Tour which hits Australia’s East Coast in January 2016.
On his first time back in the country since being showered in glowing reviews at the last Big Day Out-Mac is back, armed with a new arsenal of tracks from his debut major-label album GO:OD AM, along with fan favourites from Blue Slide Park, and Best Day Ever.
The young Malcolm ‘Mac Miller’ McCormick-self taught in piano, bass, guitar and drums was by the age of 14 rapping for a living. After graduating from high school, Mac wasting no time signed a deal with Rostrum Records. Eleven cult favourite mixtapes followed, millions of YouTube views and hype quickly was generated both on the streets and incited a mass online following in the process.
Blue Side Park soared to the top of the Billboard 200 – the first occurrence an independent rap album had done so since 1995, with this Miller received widespread critical acclaim.
Miller’s quick rise to fame has continued to reveal new sides of himself to the world – a grassroots rapper; producer Larry Fisherman, artist Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival, his horrorcore alter-ego Delusional Thomas, a reality TV star while simultaneously owning his own label, has released a self-titled jazz album and created a live tour documentary entitled Live From Space with The Internet.
