Following up rumours surrounding St Jerome’s Laneway Festival discussed at BIGSOUND, official co-founders Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio have confirmed their first act for Laneway 2015- and it’s not who you think.

Agnes“, the first confirmed performer, had an air of mystery about her — that was until it was revealed that it was Agnes DeMarco, the beloved mother of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Mac DeMarco. Apparently after discussing his bookings, DeMarco requested his good ol’ mum to be brought on tour. Rogers agreed, but with grand ultimatum- she must fulfil MC duties at the festival. ‘I’d make a great MC’, Agnes told press happily. Of course you will, Agnes.

So there you have it: not only is Mac DeMarco performing, but his mum is as well.  Rumours surrounding the festival are still continuing however, with the graceful FKA twigs and rising star Banks garnering the most attention. It’s needless to say that the wait for the official lineup is going to be a long one — Thursday October 2nd can’t come any sooner!
