Nutty, fresh and complex; not your typical adjectives best to describe this ‘Sherry‘; the latest single announced for the young folks of Loose Tooth, to be taken from their forthcoming debut EP Saturn Returns.
The Aussie alt-rock trio’s smooth, old-school track rumbles along with a timeless ease, with bassist Luc Dawson’s placid vocals combining with respective drummer and guitarist Etta Curry and Nellie Jackson’s serene harmonies to create an old-time anthem complete with washed out guitars and a laid-back drum beat.
It’s easy to imagine the band performing the song on the verandah of an old western saloon in the desert dressed in dusty denims and loose fitting overalls perhaps screened on a fuzzy old television set, though perhaps that imagery is also conjured thanks to the band’s latest charming press shot (pictured above).
‘Sherry’ serves as the follow-up to the band’s previous hit ‘Bites Will Bleed‘, with the EP expected for an April 1 release, with a launch scheduled in Melbourne on April 22 at The Gasometer Hotel and on May 20 in Sydney at Tokyo Sing Song.
