Music in Victoria is getting bigger and bigger everyday, setting a tone in the national music scene. Changes has kept it homegrown by partnering with local labels, agents and music organisations. Filling the streets with music over two evenings in Fitzroy and Collingwood, Changes will allow you to hear the voices of the most important artists of the moment.
During the day you’ll be hearing from local speakers like Alex Zaccaria representing Bolster, offering expert advice on the state of play in digital marketing in music and events for big clients such as Splendour in the Grass and Groovin in the Moo. Changes will also be hosting international speakers like Meredith Croy from the US. Meredith is the director of Songkick, and will discuss how to use the Songkick application, and how it works. She has the responsibility of overseeing the industry and artist strategy for concert discovery.
Music is constantly changing through new sounds and innovations, often driven by new technology trends. Changes will broaden your perspective on how we interact with new technology, and how new technology can influence and evolve music. Whether its repurposing new techniques for access and engagement, or looking at how our lives and techniques are changing with technology, Changes is set to start a technological conversation like no other. In the department of Tech you will be hearing from the Cherie Hu, award winning music writer and researcher, who will be focusing on digital and tech trends, and emerging markets.
Changes will also host 30 minute talks from local and international experts through one on one meetings, workshops and masterclasses – stimulating the mind and reinventing ways of thinking. This will help make meaningful connections and get you thinking – WHATS NEXT?
