Freedom Time‘s hotly anticipated winter instalment for 2018 is just around the corner, and there’s a mighty fine array of musical talent ready to warm up the Coburg VelodromeWax’o Dystopio, the darker, post-apocalyptic alter ego of seminal party starters Wax’o Paradiso are set to be one of the highlights of the toasty line up. Of course, they’re not the only highlight, and there’s plenty of tyalent on show that they want to catch when Freedom Time Winter rolls around. We had Edd and Simon, two members of the trio, run us through five of their unmissable acts at the festival.

Dopplereffekt

“Husband and wife duo Dopplereffekt have been making sublime Detroit electro cuts for introverted dancefloor listening since 1995. It’s an absolute pleasure to host their audio-visual live set on our apocalyptic Dystopio stage. Absolutely not one to miss.”

 Michal Turtle

“Some fond memories of playing Michal Turtle’s productions include Edd getting his hair braided in the DJ booth whilst Simon tried to DJ over him in the Doof Day Spa at Inner Varnika. It was a sight to behold, and it’s Michals debut in Australia!”

Dip In The Pool

“The Japanese dreamy synth pop duo has been doing it since the mid ’80s! We’re forever thankful that Music From Memory resurrected this gem of a song and that Freedom Time is bringing them to Australian shores for the first time ever.”

Veronica Vasicka

“Vasicka is a global resource for all things wave. A veritable encyclopedia of synthpop, outsider electronics and post punk. Head of the legendary Minimal Wave label and its club-focused sublabel Cititrax. Her debut visit to Australia is long overdue, huge tip!”

Joe Clausell

“… even though he’s clashing with our set time 😉 Joe Clausells Aussie debut is one not to miss. He’s the percussive deep spiritual house master, it’s hard to narrow down our favourite production of his so we’ve chosen one each.”

Freedom Time Winter will take place on the 30th of June at the Coburg Velodrome. Check out the full line up here, and grab your tickets here
