Over the past 7 years triple j Unearthed has awarded Asta, Snakadaktal, Stonefield and Hunting Grounds high school glory and national recognition for winning their Unearthed High competition.

Last years winners Lunatics on Pogosticks, from Sydney’s Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, have since played Falls Music and Arts Festival, released a brand new single, signed with a booking agent, toured with British India, The Jungle Giants and Grinspoon, and graduated high school all within a year of winning Unearthed High.

The winner will be flown to triple j studios to have their song professionally recorded by the triple j Music Producers. The song will then have airplay on triple j, and on triple j Unearthed. In celebration, there will be a concert held at their high school, where the winner will get to play alongside hip hop guru Seth Sentry, in front of all their school mates!

triple j Unearthed High finalists will be announced on Tues 5 August, with the 2014 Unearthed High winner revealed on Fri 15 August.
