Pioneer’s Answer To The ‘Technics 1200’?

Having completely owned the electronic music market with their line of CDJs and high end mixers, Pioneer is set to take its DJ technology to the analog realm with the imminent release of their new PLX-1000. Fans of the gone-but-not-forgotten Technics 1200 series have struggled to find a turntable capable of replicating the control possessed by the discontinued line, with Pioneer looking to fill that void with their newest direct drive table.

So, how will the PLX-1000 weigh up against the Technics 1200?

• High-torque direct drive (33⅓ rpm in 0.3 seconds)
• Classic DJ turntable layout
• Removable power, ground and phone cables
• S-shaped tone arm
• Multiple tempo control options: ±8%, ±16% and ±50%
• Tempo reset button
• Solid build for excellent vibration damping
• Professional-grade gold-plated RCA jacks
• Rubber-lined tone arm to improve isolation and prevent feedback
