EMI Music Australia has announced the release of Dusty By The Decades, a Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set containing music and memorabilia of Australia’s Slim Dusty.

The box set contains music and memorabilia from the 1940’s to the 1990’s, with each of the 6 CDs covering a specific decade of Slim’s music.

6CDs featuring 100 classic Slim Dusty tracks from his 6 decades of recording

G Stands For Go-Betweens Volume I

G Stands For Go-Betweens – Volume One extensively documents The Go-Betweens’ origins in a box containing four vinyl albums, four compact discs and an extensive 112-page book, featuring a trove of archival photos and extensive historical liner notes from founding member Robert Forster, along with additional pieces from guest essayists, fans and contemporaries.

Capturing the band’s output from 1978 through 1984, it includes the first vinyl re-pressings of their first three studio albums in over thirty years (Send Me A Lullaby, Before Hollywood & Spring Hill Fair) – all re-mastered from their original analogue tapes.

Thieves have stolen a brand new laptop from Brunswick’s Record Paradise store.

The company has taken their frustration to Facebook, posting;

“Could the person who just removed our new lap top from Record Paradise please return it! We are a small business and struggle week to week to bring you the best selection of local and new and recycled music we can! Please give us a fuckin break!”

 

Black Gold Vinyl Fair 2014

On Saturday 22nd of November, Eastside Radio 89.7 FM will once again host their bi-annual Black Gold Exclusive Vinyl Fair at the The Civic Hotel in Sydney.

This year there will be over 8,000 rare and exclusive records on offer.

The assortment is hand picked by meticulous music collectors and a range of Australian DJs, including The Vinyl Junkie, Fuse Records, Revolve Records, Gian Arpino, Nick Toth plus new vendors Suzie Scott, Dean Dixon, Katalyst and many more.

And for those of you in love with the black gold you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in everything from disco, funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae, rock ‘n’ roll and blues.
