‘Misery‘ is the first single from Vic Stone‘s upcoming debut album, One Eleven.
Since moving to New York in 2013, the Australian born singer and songwriter has been developing his own sound, writing and recording his own material and jamming with local New York artists.
His most recent collaboration has extended beyond the borders of the U.S. and stretch back to his home town of Melbourne, to local funk and rock artist, Harts. Having worked together previously, Harts now features as a writer, mixer & producer on ‘Misery’ and on the forthcoming One Eleven, which will be released through Harts’ independent label, Offtime Music.
‘Misery’ is an infectiously funky tune which showcases Stone’s distinct vocals, a remarkable blend of sensual soul and husky rock reminiscent of Bruno Mars, as well as Harts’ slick production and 80s influence.
In his own words, Stone says – “As an artist I want to write songs that people resonate and associate with a specific moment or person in their lives. That’s the mark of a great song.”
‘Misery’ delivers that, and more, and is guaranteed to bring the listener anything but misery.
One Eleven is due for release on the 25th of May via Offtime Music.
