Speaker TV Presents: Treasure Hunt – For Best Of Both Sides Festival – Thursday April 17
Melbourne’s Best Of Both Sides Festival, held annually between Lucky Coq, Penny Black and Bimbo Deluxe, will this year commence on Good Friday Eve; Thursday April 17. Melbourne online music, fashion and film channel Speaker TV will launch and curate the opening night at Bimbo’s with both up and coming and established Melbourne bands hitting the decks instead of the stage for one night only.
The Speaker DJs will kick-start the night downstairs with a mix of hip-hop and local indie faves. Following this will be the battle of the smooth grooves between PBS’s Chelsea Wilson and The Perfectionists’ Christina Arnold. Then the front man of local lads I, A Man, Dan, as well as their guitarist Ash will take to the decks with their (top secret) specialty themed playlist.
Returning to its soul-vibes, the night will see Saskwatch’s Liam go head to head with Dorsal Fins band mate Ella Thompson – who also features in The Bamboos.
Yeo and his drummer Andrew will then be pumping the party with all the hits (and perhaps party misses), followed by Damn Terran & Heavy Beach bass player Ali E bringing the rockin’ tunes home.
Meanwhile, EBAGC’s Rie and Marcus are spinning upstairs with an eclectic mix of everything new and old, followed by Americana troubadour Fraser A. Gorman mixing it up with Eagle & The Worm’s Jarrad Brown.
So expect the unexpected when members of Saskwatch, Eagle & The Worm, Fraser A. Gorman, Damn Terran, Dorsal Fins, I, a Man, Chelsea Wilson, The Perfections, Yeo, East Brunswick All Girls Choir & Speaker TV DJs take over the turntables to playing some of their favourite tunes.
