NOTABLES:
Get ready to step and clap your way through a space disco wonderland, because Todd Terje and The Olsens are the first act to get us shaking with excitement. Todd (yes we are on a first name basis) has never performed with a live band before, so just mentally prepare yourself for that, and meet you at the stage, front left.
Chicago based rapper and singer NONAME is making her Australian debut at Meredith Music Festival, allowing her Aussie based fans to exhale a huge sigh of relief that they’ll be fortunate enough to witness her talent in the flesh. The world fell in love with NONAME when she featured on Chance The Rapper’s track ‘Lost’. Be sure to have this hauntingly soulful songstress on top of your must see list.
ESG is a dreamy amalgamation of 3 sisters’ musical taste and their mums’ dope record collection. Growing up in the Bronx in the early 80’s amidst a music scene that was adopting flavours from all over the world ESG are sprinkled with elements of hip-hop, punk, disco, soul, blues, and funk. They were chosen by Larry Levan to close the show on the night of the final Paradise Garage party in New York, and have toured with The Clash and Grandmaster Flash. Try to hold back the happy tears if you can, this is one family affair that is sure to steal the festival.
!!! – It’s alright, don’t worry too much about the pronunciation on this one, just know you’ll be exuding the level of energy and excitement that their name implies. Or you could do what the band does and “repeat thrice any monosyllabic sound”. Their romantic house, dub-disco, electronic, r&b, inducing tunes will be a sure highlight, set against a Friday night sunset backdrop, you won’t want to miss them.
The annual extravaganza will be held from the 8th-10th of December, keep up to date with further lineup announcements and ticket details here. See you there kids.
