January and February is looking like a heated time for Testing Grounds and not just because of the everlasting threat of bushfires.

The vacant lot turned venue on the banks of Southbank has just announced its line-up for the inaugural edition of the SummerSalt Outdoor Arts Festival, featuring three international acts. Leading the charge is Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, featuring Kid Congo of The Cramps and The Bad Seeds fame. Next up on the roster is Peter Hook of Joy Division and New Order playing with his new band The Light, who is planning on giving the night something to celebrate by playing New Order’s classic albums Low Life and Brotherhood in full, along with a special opening act of Joy Division material.

Bringing up the rear is DIY jazz band Lake Street Drive performing songs off their new album Bad Self Portraits, as they have sold out clubs around the US as well as on television shows such as David Letterman and The Colbert Report.
