On June 12, Perth producer Ta-ku will invite us into his world as he curates and performs at his very own Red Bull Music Academy x Boiler Room session, giving fans old and new the opportunity to witness an intimate live performance of his new EP, Songs To Make Up To, set for release via Future Classic on the same day.

In lead up to the special live broadcast, Red Bull Music Academy interviewed Ta-ku at Westons Barbershop & Shave Parlour, the barbershop he opened in his hometown last year. The interview was then made into a mini-documentary.

Regan Matthews, aka Ta-Ku, sheds light on the making of Songs To Make Up To, and his recent artistic endeavours outside of the music spectrum. These include his passion for photography, his burgeoning Instagram sneaker community, and creative outpourings via collaborative project Create&Explore.

Matthews has been making waves across the world with the JMSN-featuring ‘Love Again’, the first single from the upcoming EP. This week he dropped a further taster from the EP with ‘Long Time No See’, another delightfully soulful tune featuring his unique blend of music samples and orchestral instrumentation.
