Following the success of last years festival, the 2015 Small World Festival held this September will play host to a bevy of local talent.
The one-day event celebrates all that is good about Sydney’s Inner West and beyond; great live music, quality food from local restaurateurs and refreshments by Young Henrys.
Australian rock royalty The Church, with iconic hits ‘Under the Milky Way’, and ‘The Unguarded Moment’ among others, will be headlining this year’s lineup. Forming in Sydney’s Inner West some 35 years ago, the band continue to release uncompromising music, and most recent was their 21st full length studio album Further/Deeper.
From their humble beginnings as punk-kids playing house parties, through to supporting international heavyweights the Foo Fighters and winning ARIA Awards; professional face-melters DZ Deathrays will be bringing their roof-lifting live show.
Renowned for making genre-bending guitar music, PVT have carved themselves a reputation as sonic innovators. At Small World, they celebrate 10 years since the release of their debut album Make Me Love You, a career which has won them FBi Radio’s Release Of The Decade, a slot at Glastonbury and being the first Australian band ever to sign to the Illustrious Warp Records.
Off the back of the critically acclaimed 2014 release Playmates, exciting Sydney supergroup Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders (Jack Ladder, Kirin J. Callinan, Laurence Pike and Donny Benet) will also feature live.
Rounding off the 2015 lineup: PALMS, All Our Exes Live In Texas, Bon Voyage (SPOD fronted Bon Scott era ACDC cover band), Summer Flake, new I OH YOU buzz act (pun intended) Green Buzzard and The Lulu Raes.
Ensuring no one skips a meal on the day, iconic Inner West hunger quashing quintet Mary’s, Bloodwood, Porteño, Black Betty BBQ and Cornersmith will be supplying the crowd with their specialities.
