Running from the 12-22 of May across multiple venues, the Stonnington Jazz Festival is back with an awesome program for 2016. There are some must-see gigs for the jazz lovers out there, including new project TIGGY. Featuring the incredible Fem Belling, Monique di Mattina and Tamara Murphy, the unique trio explores the combination of violin, double bass and piano with three part harmonies, and meshes each member’s individual musical experiences together.
Another festival highlight is Lance Ferguson’s Black Feeling project, which is being presented live for the first time. The Black Feeling recordings are disguised as forgotten compilation records, but they’re actually recorded here in Melbourne. The festival has also started a new initiative called The Club Series.
