The Society of Tastemakers & Elegant People (STEP) have announced their first panel event for 2015, entitled ‘The Artist’. The organisation has run a string of successful panel events in the past, each featuring a range of young music industry novices and covering a particular aspect of the music industry. Previous panels ‘Young Labels’, ‘The Critic’ and ‘The Manager’, have featured the likes of Milwaukee Banks, Jen Cloher, Mikey Cahill and Jake Cleland.

Gracing the panel board this time around will be talented young things Chela, Oscar Key Sung, BanoffeeRemi and Sensible J. Guests will discuss the personal aspects of being a music artist, such as song-writing, finding inspiration and tackling the logistics of touring and moving forward as a musician. Moderated by Nick Clarke, the event will feature performances by RaRa (who are supporting De La Soul on their upcoming Australian tour) and Melbourne audio/visual duo friendships.

‘The Artist’ panel will kick off at The Toff In Town on Wednesday January 21. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door, and two-for-one tickets are available to the lucky members of APRA AMCOSAIR and Music Victoria.

Doors open at 7:30pm. Panel from 8:00pm. Performances from 9:00pm.
