After a mammoth sell out year this year, Western Australia’s premiere music and camping festival, Southbound, are excited to announce an extra night of programming in 2016 – Friday Night Fever!
Friday Night Fever will give half of the festival patrons the opportunity to get their hands on a 3-day camping ticket, access the site a day early and set up camp at a leisurely pace.
For those who catch the fever, a night of disco inferno awaits! There will be prizes for those who dress to impress and nail the ‘Disco Inferno’ theme, and more prizes for those stand outs shaking it on the dance floor!
Southbound 2015 experienced a few changes in a number of areas that were massive hits with festival goers, so much so, they will not only remain for the 2016 event, but will return bigger and better!
We will be keeping the capacity at a cool 15,000 to ensure the quality of a boutique festival experience remains. Patrons will once again be able to set up camp next to their cars and have the option to bring camper vans, more shaded areas have been added around the site, and this year we are excited to be introducing into Base Camp, a large circus style tent to provide some shade, with a special arts program (to be announced in the coming weeks).
The Wine and Champagne Bar returns offering more shade and a larger alfresco experience with an extensive list of bubbles and vino from the South West region. Our resident foodie has matched a wide variety of palatable options to deliver the perfect menu featuring produce sourced from the finest local providors. This is the place to be or for those of you looking to add a little luxe to your festival experience!
The Food Trucks return for those who are down with eating on the street. Party legends will once again find their soul mates at The Coconut Club, the sandy dance floor, the bangin’ beats, your very own lifesaver, (tower and all), sun beds, beach umbrellas and an endless stream of spiced rum and cola to cool your jets! The Craft Beer Bar is also set to expand, more shade, a full bar style menu, and more BEER! Speaking of crafty, the artisan stalls will be back on site again, with offerings of handmade arts and crafts for those who are up for a little shopping.
With the first line up announcement around the corner, and all of the above locked and loaded, Southbound 2016 is looking to be the biggest and best yet!
