Funky 9-piece Papa G and The Starcats are gearing up for a massive launch of their live album this month at the Ding Dong Lounge.
With support from The Jungle Crooks and The Scrimshaw Four, will take to the Chinatown band room stage once again, having played there in February this year to a sold-out crowd.
Papa G and The Starcats have been playing and packing out venues around Melbourne for the past two years. They’ve played at heaps of iconic venues around Melbourne, like Ding Dong, Bar Open, The Prince of Wales, The Gasometer – where this live album was recorded – and The Evelyn Hotel.
Earlier this year, they released their debut EP Smooth Lovin’, and the single reached Number 1 on Triple J Unearthed.
They’ve played at Inca Roads Music Festival, playing alongside Gold Fields, Barons of Tang and more, and also Feskyval alongside D.D Dumbo, getting the crowd up and groovin’. Most recently, the band filmed a music video for ‘Smooth Lovin’’, which they are released to a huge crowd at the Gaso.
