In its seventeenth year, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival highlight Music, Mirth & Mayhem is back, featuring a swag of great Australian comedians and musicians.
Taking place on Monday 13 April at the Hi-Fi Bar, the event will see comedian Lawrence Mooney once again as MC, with the likes of Dave Hughes, Adam Hills, Tim Rogers, Benny Walker, Liz Stringer, Trygve Wakenshaw and many more on the bill.
Singer-songwriters, musicians and comedians continue to give generously of their time to perform at Music Mirth & Mayhem. Australian performer Rebecca Barnard is a ‘regular’ of the good cause event.
“It is an absolute pleasure to support Mirabel in any way possible. I am a founding member, and for a while ran a music programme for the Mirabel kids. This enforced my belief that music is a great healer. The songs we developed over the years were heartfelt and very creative.”
The Mirabel Foundation cares for children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use.
Currently supporting over 1400 children, with nine children referred to The Mirabel Foundation each week, all monies raised at Music Mirth & Mayhem help to provide the children with a childhood and a future.
“The support we receive from the entertainment industry and MICF is one of our longest and most valued collaborations, and the generosity of spirit from everyone involved is deeply appreciated by us all,” says Mirabel’s CEO, Jane Rowe. “The generosity of the entertainment community and our regular audiences ensure that we never have to turn a child away.”
