Art-pop Sydney teen Montaigne has dropped a live video of her new single ‘A Cinematic Plea For An End‘.
On the back of 200,000+ views of her Sia cover for Triple J’s Like A Version, the quirky songstress is reaping praise for her ordinal songwriting and powerhouse live performances.
The clip was filmed and produced by Masses Collective (Hungry Kids of Hungary, Something With Numbers, Ball Park Music), with audio recorded and mixed by Adrian Breakspear, and it was shot on the Sydney leg of Montaigne’s recent sold out headline tour.
Striking with a pale blue military jacket and curly quiff, Montaigne and her backing band perform to a captivating, standing room-only crowd at Sydney’s Brighton Up Bar.
“Cinematic the song basically expresses several issues with idealism, both in platonic and romantic relationships,” explains Montaigne.
A regular on the touring circuit, Montaigne was included in the line up at Groovin The Moo (in Canberra), has recently supported Megan Washington and San Cisco on their prospective stints, and is set to perform at Come Together Festival as well as open the Japanese Wallpaper national tour.
