Melbourne’s iconic Rooftop Cinema has released part one of their summer open-air cinema program. Beginning on December 5th with Ridley Scotts blockbuster The Martian (2015), the program spans all genres and eight decades, you are sure to find a cinematic offering that will suit just about anyone. Here are my top picks for the Rooftop Cinema program, from blockbusters to old classic favourites.
If you missed this year’s biggest music related releases Straight Outta Compton (2015) and Montage of Heck (2015) you can catch them on Wednesday 20th Jan and Sunday 24th January respectively.
A connoisseur of the classics? Casablanca (1942) will be showing on Sunday 27th December a perfect distraction from the sometimes-overwhelming holiday season.
2015 the forecasted year of the hover-board catch Back To The Future (1985) on Wednesday 13th January, what better way to share your disappointment with science than commiserating with 160 other like-minded people?
Lastly but definitely not least, you will be able to watch probably the biggest release of 2015, directed by J.J Abrams it is a continuation of the saga originally created by George Lucas and set thirty years after the original film Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi; Episode VII will certainly deliver all the Star Wars-y goodness everyone so craves. If you are like me and haven’t seen any of the films this is a good enough excuse as any to catch up on the most influential Sci Fi Western there is too date. Where the popcorn at?
