A month after selling out their Melbourne album launch in celebration of their LP Iceberg Nerves, Melbourne outfit Lowlakes have relocated to Europe where they are touring across the continent and writing for a new album in the Austrian Alps (as per their Facebook page), before returning back home later in the year to tour over the Australian summer.
On top of their own headlining tour, Lowlakes will appear at a number of European festivals, including Dockville Festival in Hamburg alongside Jagwar Ma, Flume, Jake Bugg, Wild Beasts and more as well as Amsterdam’s Brave Festival.
Before departing Australian shores, Lowlakes filmed a mini documentary about returning to their hometown of Alice Springs, with a sneak peak featuring frontman Tom Snowdon reflecting on life in the Alice now online.
Shot in some breathtaking locations in and around Alice Springs, Snowdon talks about the possible connection between his upbringing in a close-knit and somewhat isolated community in the Australian outback and Lowlakes‘ brand of distant, sombre music.
Lowlakes have had a fruitful twelve months with an array of well-received live shows, releasing Iceberg Nerves, Snowdon guesting on Big Scary side project #1 Dads’ Triple J added single ‘Return To’; as well as the making of their stunning mini documentary.
