Okay, so he might be more than just a wedding DJ, but the part about him playing in Sydney next week is true and the first part is kind of true. The British producer behind the current number one ‘Uptown Funk’ with Bruno Mars will be coming to Australia next week… and playing one show. A DJ set, to be specific, and it’s being gifted to Sydney.

Now, don’t be disappointed by the label of ‘DJ set’ in this scenario. Mark Ronson‘s DJ sets tend to contain a mix of funk, hip hop and other jazzy things; things that you swear you’ve heard before but probably haven’t. In fact, attendees might even be in for a repetition of the DJ set from Paul McCartney’s 2011 wedding to Nancy Shevell, where Ronson was given the controls to play anything he wanted as long as it was funky and not the music of McCartney’s vehicle for musical revolution: Wings.

Just kidding – I mean The Beatles. But he probably didn’t play Wings anyway. And he probably won’t play a celebrity wedding set when he comes to Sydney. He’ll appear at the Oxford Art Factory in the late hours of February 4th. Tickets go on sale at 9am on January 30th at secret-sounds.com.au.
