Leaps and Bounds Music Festival will again run bus tours of Yarra City’s music history; with the activity gaining wide popularity at last year’s event. The bus tours will operate between Thursday and Sundays, and will be curated by Triple R veteran and founder of In-Fidelity Records, Bruce Milne.
Yarra City includes the suburbs of Abbotsford, Alphington, Burnley, Carlton North, Clifton Hill, Collingwood, Cremorne, Fairfield, Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Princess Hill and Richmond – the bus trip venturing to the ‘missed venues of yesteryear’ including The Punters Club, The Much More Ballroom, and The Tiger Lounge; as well as important indigenous music spots, and, of course – the locations where they filmed Dogs in Space. Also on the route will be some more shady locations – like where crime and music overlapped, rehearsing studios, and notable musical share houses.
Tickets for the bus rides are $22 at trybooking.com. The tours are all ages and will run between 1 and 4 pm on July 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Each tour is limited to 18 passengers.
