Mashing together hip-hop, jazz and psych with smooth production from Kevin Parker, Koi Child is making waves. ‘1-5-9’ is a super chilled track that floats under hypnotic vocals and bass lines, lush keys and horn figures, and sounds like if Kamasi Washington, Tame Impala and Thundercat had a musical baby. The video was shot in Fremantle, the band’s hometown, and features the guys jamming out on sand dunes with some trippy animation flying around the screen.

Koi Child’s self-titled debut album is out March 18 via Pilerats Records. Catch them on tour this month around the country.
