Melbourne-based writer, vocalist, performer and voice of the Redfern Now theme Kira Puru, has released her debut single ‘All Dulled Out‘.

Emerging as the front-woman for Newcastle pop-outfit Kira Puru & the Bruise back in 2010, Puru spent 4 years as their primary songwriter and performer.

Since then, she has collaborated with a range of artists including Paul Mac, Illy and Urthboy, and has spent much of 2015 touring with Paul Kelly as a feature vocalist on his Merri Soul Sessions tour.

It’s the first single from her forthcoming EP and her debut as a solo artist. Recorded at The Institute Studio Melbourne’s Nicholas Building (where majority of Kira Puru’s forthcoming debut solo EP was tracked), Puru teamed up with friend and producer Jamieson Shaw of Turning Studio, to create ‘All Dulled Out’.

A collision of shiny, electro pop with heavy, sorrowful vocals, ‘All Dulled Out’ is a melancholic attack on the universal break-up song. Spiralling background synths fade in and out as Puru’s voice soars over the luscious, distorted chorus refrain “It never goes away”.

Live shows are set to follow this release, so stay tuned for more Kira Puru!
