The music video for ‘Cellophane’ is the most questionable attempt at 3D footage possibly ever — but that’s all part of the charm. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released the video to their forthcoming album’s lead single; a short and sweet surf-garage number that cries back not only to their earlier albums, but also to the similarly short and sweet surf-garage numbers of bands like Thee Oh Sees. And like all of their previous music videos, this one was created by Jason Galea.

However, unlike their previous music videos, this one kind of has a story line. The story line encompasses their front man being sucked into a television, then flying through a realm of psychedelic green-screenery before meeting the rest of the band; all inexplicably draped in the red robes of some weird species of monk. He’s then similarly regurgitated by the TV. It’s fair enough if you don’t quite regard this as a story though. It’s still awesome.

Their new album, I’m In Your Mind Fuzz, will be released on October 31st through Flightless Records.
