Apparently you couldn’t turn a corner at New York’s CMJ Festival last week without stumbling across these seven shaggy-haired Melbourners churning out their violently pulsating, mass-produced garage rock; with Americans now realising that the label ‘prolific’ barely does them justice.

And now, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have announced a string of shows on home soil to promote their new album I’m In Your Mind Fuzz — which comes out today via the band’s own label Flightless and Remote Control Records. It’s one of two albums they recorded while residing in an American cabin (the trip before last, I think), and follows on from the March release of their fourth album Oddments. Label mates The Babe Rainbow will be joining them as supports.

The tour will include dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Fremantle and Perth. Their previous Australian tours involved between four and five Melbourne dates in the same number of nights, encompassing Melbourne-world-tours within themselves. Unfortunately, this prolific amount of shows, all at different venues, exhausted them of Melbourne venues to play at. So this time they’re just playing one. Sydney and Freo/Perth, however, have multiple dates to look forward to:
