The wonderfully impish, wonderfully Canadian, and wonderfully independent Grimes (a.k.a. Claire Boucher) has released a track for the first time in almost two years. ‘Go’, featuring California electronic artist Blood Diamonds, begins as a soothing pop song before taking a spacey venture towards electronic dance; with luscious beats, synths, and piano samples comprising the rest of short, sweet, and (appropriately) lyrically dream-themed track.

The musician, producer and singer-songwriter, who is signed to Jay-Z’s management company Roc Nation and 4AD records, first presented ‘Go’ to fans at New York’s Governor’s Ball Festival a few weeks ago. She has said of the track “it’s our summer jam so we figured we should put it out cuz I am very bored of waiting to finish my album b4 releasing new music haha. [sic.]”

Right on.
