Melbourne’s up-and-coming, sexy singer-songwriter Gena Rose Bruce has released her brand new single ‘Good Thing’.

The track is a taste of the forthcoming EP Mad Love (due out this July) and paired with launch shows in Melbourne and Sydney at the end of next month, Bruce is a name to watch.

22-year-old Bruce and her equally young and talented band recently headed in to the studio with ARIA nominated producer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Eagle and the Worm, Clairy Browne) to record four tracks live and loud.

After winning the 2013 Telstra Road to Discovery award and dropping a debut 5-track EP Wild One Babe late that year, Bruce has been writing and touring ever since. She’s supported for the likes of Ella Hooper, Daryl Braithwaite and The Pierce Brothers, and last year, was runner up in the Americana category of the prestigious Unsigned Only international songwriting competition with her track ‘Jackson’.

With a voice eerie similar to Katy Steele’s (Little Birdy), ‘Good Thing’ is a mesmerising, soft rock number. Her sensual vocals coo and brood over a bluesy guitar riff as she contemplates the intensity of young love.
