Mini-festival within a festival – Falls‘ much loved arts precinct The Village – have just announced its programming for this December. Festival punters in all states will get to enjoy a crazy, fun and probably weird array of interpretive dance, interactive installations, activities, performances, circus acrobatics and magic ‘to amuse you and make you smile to your arts content!’ Who are you kidding, that sounds amazing.

Here are the Village lineups for each city:

An area that is perfect for the kids – including face painting, biscuit readings, feisty physical comedians, visual arts workshops, puppet shows, space installations, nail polish stands, hair salons and kids films. The Byron arts program showcases some of the best local and national artists. Playing across The Village’s stages will be ragtime piano men with dirty Western tunes, pocket sized hurricanes, burlesque performances, Bollywood dancers, folk heroes and plenty more! Captain Ruin and Bam Bam, Mae Wilde, Stafford Smith, Acts of Absurdity, Miss Belle Benét & Miss Josephine Benét, Bertie Page Clinic and the Swingin’ Saloon Dolls, Ciel by Gabrielle Griffin, The Houndstooths’ – Drawing Parlour, Trent Morris 10minute disco, Leif Lyall – The Captain Syphilis Experience  (and Dr. Seth Greengil, Shep Huntly, Miss Friby, Liam Power, Kiki Bittovabtisch, Kiki and Pascal, The Governess, Mr Boxman, Russia’s Best Kept Secret, Suzy Leigh, The Great Dave, Marion Conroy, Kellie O & Mick Dick, The Valentines by Roundabout Theatre, Samba Blisstas, Safety First, Bollywood Dancers.

Oh and if you didn’t realise already, the Boogie Nights Fancy Dress theme has also been set, and it’s ‘Deep Sea Disco’. If you upload a photo of yourself in your rad costume (disco-ball mermaid, obviously) onto Instagram with the hashtag #fallsfancy you could win the ultra-coveted title of ‘Best Dressed’ – and die a happy death. Oh and you can get a Falls-themed Bernina sewing machine valued at around $1200. So get out your clag, sequins and ‘Octopus’s Garden’ and start DIYing.
