For the launch Dr. Martens are hosting an intimate series of free shows featuring local and international bands in the three days leading up to the event.
Where? Apparently they can’t say just yet…. However they one thing they have revealed is the very rockin’ line up featuring:
Monday 16th June – Stonefield (+ 18 only)
Another Melbourne-based rock ensemble, Stonefield gives a contemporary twist to classic rock ‘n’ roll. Their heavy, raw and startling mature collection of songs with an overt blues influence are a trademark.
Wednesday 18th June – Band Of Skulls (+ 18 only)
Flying in from the UK, Band Of Skulls are one of the biggest up-and-comers to hit the music scene in recent years. After making up the line up at Splendour in the Grass and touring with household names such as Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather and Muse, they released their third LP ‘Himalayan’ in March this year.
Tuesday 17th June Kingswood (+ 18 only)
This four-piece rock outfit from Melbourne has toured with the likes of The Living End and Grinspoon and supported Aerosmith. They have just returned from Nashville where they recorded their first studio album.
So here’s the deal. The secret location to be announced on Wednesday 11th June and to be a part of this event you must enter via the ballot system through the: Dr. Martens Aus/NZ Facebook page
