Melbourne eclectic rockers Darts have released a blunt new music clip for their latest single ‘Dead‘.

Taken from their new album Below Empty & Westward Bound, the video is more film clip than music video, with an outback murder mystery at its creepy core.

Director Timothy Casten shot the clip like a scene from the Wild West, with the band lined up and blood-splattered as a lone knife-wielding bandit wanders the hills.

Granular, menacing male vocals bellow over a Spaghetti-Western electric riff, with fast and furious cuts between band members in varying states of disarray. The chorus screams “He’s dead, dead, dead”, followed by a languid, eerie refrain from the girls.

Darts will be officially launching Below Empty & Westward Bound at The Shadow Electric in Melbourne on Saturday June 20 and in Sydney at the Brighton Up Bar on Saturday June 27.

They’re also supporting Alpine on their national tour which starts at the end of the month.
