Monster Fest, Australia’s premier cult and horror film festival, is back this November.
Running from the 26th – 29th November at Melbourne’s newest home of cult cinema, The Lido Cinema in Hawthorn, the program this year will include over 40 feature films, retro gems, two short film programs, guests, bands, Monster Market, Munstapalooza horror hot rods, and much much more.
Last week saw the release of the official Monster Fest 2015 poster, plus the announcement that this year’s special guests will include the likes of Butch Patrick (The Munsters), Fred Williamson (From Dusk To Dawn) and Dee Wallace (E.T.),
Australia’s favourite outback villain Mick Taylor will be back on screen for the 10th anniversary of Wolf Creek, as well as Melbourne director Ray Boseley‘s 1988 cult horror hit Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em, featuring music from legendary Melbourne band Blue Ruin and performances from Clayton Jacobson and a very young Shane Jacobson (in his first on screen role). Cast and crew from both films, including John Jarratt, Greg McLean, Ray Boseley and Clayton Jacobson will be attending and presenting Q&A sessions post screening.
Re-fall in love again with E.T. with a special breakfast screening that will allow fans to meet actress Dee Wallace who plays Mary (the mother) in the family classic.
There will be the world premieres of Aussie films Bullets For The Dead and Cat Sick Blues, as well as the closing night gala, Knock Knock. Eli Roth’s remake of the 1977 psychological thriller Death Game tells the twisted tale of a devoted husband and father who tries to do the right thing when 2 young women come knocking on his door looking for help. It stars award-winning actor Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas. A closing night awards party, hosted by Melbourne’s ‘Queen of the Crypt’, Cherry Bites, follows the screening and will have festival goers rocking into the wee hours with a performance from much loved Melbourne rockers, The Tarantino’s.
