This week we take a look at crowd funding projects from the Melbourne Ukulele Festival, funding a new record from Mike Noga, and The Mouldy Lovers are back for their second studio album, and need your help and support.
Uke stars for Melbourne
The Melbourne Ukulele Festival prides itself on presenting the best local and international acts available.
The 2015 Festival, over the weekend of 13-15 March, will be made possible by donating!
The festival is supported by dozens of talented Melburnians who donate their creativity through photography, graphic arts and instrument-making – and less visible but equally important skills like accountancy and event organisation.
Check out the MUF Website for more photos, videos and memories of the many great musicians who’ve played in the past – from Canada’s James HIll, to Australia’s own Bosko.
The Mouldy Lovers New Album
Brisbane based gypsy/ska/punk band The Mouldy Lovers are looking to fund their second full length album
“Over the last few months we’ve been hard at work writing our second full length album, which we are nearly ready to start recording! The songs we have written for this album are our best ones yet (at least we think so!), and as such we want to do them justice by allowing a bit more time in the studio to get the recordings just right”
The funds will be used to record, mix, master and press the album, and pledgers can get their hands on CD’s, shirts, mix tapes and more by donating.
Mike Noga Set To Release New Album
Mike Noga has spent 2014 in London writing the follow up to his 2011 album The Balladeer Hunter, as well as touring with Kurt Vile and Mick Turner of The Dirty Three.
Now, Mike is back in Australia launch the crowd funding campaign for his brand new album, which will assist with everything from artwork through to recording, mixing and mastering
You can pledge your hard earneds and receive some excellent rewards in return. In addition to pre-purchasing a copy of the new album, some of the rewards up for grabs include a private album launch party where Mike will perform live for you and your friends, and a three course meal prepared by Mike Noga and Myf Warhust (of Spicks and Specks and Double J Radio fame) to be served up in the comfort of their own home.
