With Christmas just around the corner, Triple J has teamed up with the Red Cross to bring you a new Christmas charity single featuring some favourite aussie acts titled ‘Christmas Number One’.

Written by Triple J presenter The Doctor, the song parodies many well-known Christmas songs of the past in a playful yet genuine effort to raise money for the Red Cross. The Red Cross are “thrilled to be working with triple j on ‘Christmas Number One’. The money raised will help families and loved ones prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters such as bushfires and floods”.

Featured in the single is some great aussie talent including Grinspoon, Elizabeth Rose, Thomas Rawle from Papa vs Pretty, Bertie Blackman, Tuka and Jeswon from Thundamentals, Joyride, Abbe May, Andy Bull, Laurence Pike from PVT, Touch Sensitive, Bree Tranter, Asta, Calum, James and Bryce from Lunatics on Pogo Sticks, B1 & B2 from Bananas in Pyjamas, Dr Karl and triple j presenters Tom & Alex, Linda Marigliano, Nina Las Vegas, Dom Alessio and Tom Tilley.

Download ‘Christmas Number One’ from iTunes throughout December to help raise funds or if you’d like to make a bigger donation call 1800 811 700 or go the Red Cross website at redcross.org.au.
