The Carlton Dry AIR Awards are back for another year, meaning another Global Music Grant will be handed to a local up-and coming act.

The awards’ inaugural run last year saw Melbourne seven-piece King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard win the $50 000 grant, which they’ve since used to tour America and Canada, play at the iconic Austin Psych Fest, and rent an upstate New York ranch to record two new albums in one month (because apparently this is possible).

Applications for the grant are now open. To apply, your act must be Australian and either self-released or released through an independent label. Prize money must be used exclusively to help the artist tour, showcase, record or relocate overseas as a means to further their career.
