Local lady of rock Ali E has just dropped a psychedelic, scrapbook-y new video for ‘We Are Strangers‘.

Ali, together with bassist and clip director, Anto Skene, set up a makeshift animation studio in the spare room of Ali’s house to produce the funky animation.

Having spent hours photo-snapping, cutting and collaging the clip – which features an extra-special cameo from her guitar-wielding sidekick, Patti the pooch – it’s an impressive feat and a snapshot of Melbourne’s grunge at its DIY best.

Shot in a nostalgic, sepia haze, the clip sees Ali E in full rock chick mode, pounding power chords on a sticker-plastered guitar and tossing her scruffy blonde locks to the drumbeat.

Along with the clip, Ali has also unveiled a pre-order/fundraiser campaign via Pozible, for her transparent orange, 10″ vinyl release Creatures which drops June 19.

20% of the profits made will be donated to Animals Australia.
