The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived! The nominations for the 87th Academy Awards (aka The Oscars) has been revealed, and although exciting, there are no surprises.

Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel led the field with nine Oscar nominations each, followed by The Imitation Game with eight.

Boyhood is also in the running fresh from its win at the Golden Globes, so could it be a battle of the B’s? And in keeping with the theme (and as predicted), the British are standing their ground with nominations in nearly all of the top categories, with the likes of The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything leading the pack.

The Academy Awards will be presented on February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and broadcast live in most countries. Neil Patrick Harris will host the telecast ceremony.
