If you’ve been on the Internet these past 24 hours, you may have been graced with Montreal band Fleece’s recent video ‘How To Write An Alt-J Song’. Gaining almost 800,000 views on YouTube in a single day, the parody clip is a cheeky and deliciously hilarious play on classic Alt-J algorithms, layering a hefty amount of vocal texture and looping it over and over again.

Chirping sexually between bites of rice cakes, the duo begin creating their fantastical Alt-J song with ease, the band’s frontman mumbling rhymes and adjusting his pitch. Giggling at the self-pleasure of their simple – yet strangely genius –  lyrics, ‘put it in my butt’ is an epic example of the power of poetry △nd parody.
