Trailblazers of Australian hip-hop Hilltop Hoods have kindly shared their clip for new track ‘Higher’ that features James Chatburn. Filmed in Adelaide and nearby Kuitpo Forest, the clip was directed by Richard Coburn who’s worked with the Hoods on past videos ‘Live &Let Go’ feat Maverick Sabre and Brother Ali, ‘Won’t Let You Down’ feat Maverick Sabre and ‘Cosby Sweater’.

The clip features a young family; the parents are living at an unsustainable pace and ultimately neglect their daughter. In an increasingly faced paced world we all share, neglecting relationships is probably something we’re all guilty of.

SPOILER: Instead of having a hallmark family make up at the end, the young girl takes matters into her own hands and builds a better life for herself; a pretty strong metaphor. We complain that kids grow up too fast, but maybe it’s the adults that push them too?

Deep for a Friday huh?

The track features on their upcoming recording project Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung which is set to drop through their label Golden Era Records/UMA on Friday, 19th 2016.

But wait, there’s more!
