Melbourne purveyors of synth-funk, GL are back with all-new single ‘Number One’.
The acclaimed duo of vocalist Ella Thompson and producer Graeme Pogson will launch the track officially on Saturday 24th October at Melbourne’s Gasometer Hotel.
The track release follows GL’s stand-out performance at Splendour In The Grass in July, where Thompson also joined Mark Ronson onstage as part of his live supergroup. The pair emerged as a highlight of Sydney’s OutsideIn Festival last weekend, and promise to do the same again when they take to the stage at Meredith Music Festival this December.
An infectious treat of glowing synths, stratospheric vocals and luxurious neon-lit pop, ‘Number One’ will enchant first time listeners as well as satiate fans of their debut EP ‘Love Hexagon’ in need of a GL fix.
‘Won’t You See’ and follow-up single ‘What Happened To Us’ received airplay on triple j and caught the ears of Chet Faker, who handpicked GL to support him on his February Australian tour earlier this year.
