We feel for you Brisbane and (especially) Adelaide. Artists tend to neglect you guys when they’re in Aus, but not today: Future Islands have announced headline shows in the all too often forgotten capitals while they’re visiting Australia this November.
The American synth-pop three-piece will open for Mumford and Sons in Melbourne and at their Gentlemen of the Road spectacular in Sydney. Future Islands frontman Samuel T Herring is set to bring his onstage antics to the mix and, coupled with his gravely tone and synth beats, it’s sure to be one hell of a show. Future Islands will be performing material from their fourth album Singles, including critically acclaimed number ‘Seasons (Waiting on You)’, which was named the best track of 2014 by none other than NME, Pitchfork and Spin Magazine.
Although their Melbourne show with Mumford has sold out, it’s not too late for Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney. Tickets for Brisbane and Adelaide go on sale from 9am Wednesday 16 September, while Sydneysiders can still nab a pass to the Gentleman of the Road all day event, featuring the likes of Jake Bugg, The Vaccines, The Jungle Giants, Meg Mac and Art of Sleeping.
