Part of UNESCO’s Cities of creative arts, Melbourne is a melting pot for all things literature, and from the 21-31st of August The Melbourne Writer’s Festival is bringing writers to the forefront of the Arts scene. As it is only here for a short time,  figuring out which MWF event to see can become a little overwhelming.

A quirky exhibition that explores visual and written representations of what happens when the first and last lines of your favourite books are placed together.

The man who illustrated mine and I’m sure many people’s childhood is exhibiting his original illustrations, prints and preliminary works at BARK! BARK! BARK! A TREEHOUSE EXHIBITION.

Be one of only five others to join an intimate conversation with a writer from the festival, whose identity is kept a secret until you enter the vintage airstream caravan!

4. But wait, let me take a #Selfie


Obsessed or hate Selfie culture, join writer Ronnie Scott as she speaks to Anne Manne in light of her new book, “The Life of I: the new culture of narcissism.”

5. Oslo Davis: Drawing the Joke


Join the iconic The Age  cartoonist Oslo Davis as he draws in front of the live audience, inspired by your input and suggestions.
