This year, Lorne will again be host to the annual Festival of Performing Arts (FOPA) – igniting the Victorian Surf Coast town with a celebration of all things artsy.
Held over three days from Friday September 2 – Sunday September 4, and with more than 4000 expected to rock up, Lorne’s 2016 FOPA will showcase cabaret, comedy, theatre, music, and even circus events next to a view of Lorne’s spectacular coastline.
This year’s festival kicks off with the FOPA Gala, an evening extravaganza highlighting some of the best acts and artistic excellence set to perform over the oncoming weekend. Yet 2016’s Lorne fiesta is going to be extra special with the first ever FOPA Kids Gala, which is to be a family-friendly event full of fun.
Alongside this, the festival is set to showcase an array of amazing acts. You can expect to be serenaded by the Twilight Chorus, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Rowena Wise, Miles and Simone, Mojo Juju, and even some local Lorne talent from the School Bands Showcase. You can also expect to laugh your head off to Denise Scott, Tom Gleeson, Tessa Walter, and The Suitcase Royale, as well as be wowed by FOPA’s new Drawing Room Series – a close-up highlight of Lorne’s own exquisite and historically significant homes.
Already drooling over the awesome lineup? So, save the date and get ready to journey down to beautiful Lorne!
