To be an advocate for Mac, to be an advocate for Hank, that’s my joy. If it leads to other opportunities, I’m open to anything.”

Agnes DeMarco is the kind of mum who will do anything for her boys and the ones she loves. Expressing her feelings earlier in the year with Edmonton Journal who dubbed her ‘The Ultimate Rock ‘N’ Roll Mama’, her standpoint of watching over her two successful boys Mac and Hank and all those who support them is undeniable. Currently living in Edmonton, the crowd-surfing, 2015 Laneway Festival MC spends most her time keeping tabs on social media and sharing everything that solidifies her two talented sons. With hundreds of fans across her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter handles, Agnes is also a social media starlet in her own right, cultivating those interested in her successful ballet dancer, indie-rock’s rising star and of course, life as a DeMarco. Loveable and warm to those who reach out, I caught up with Agnes about her recent experiences with touring with Mac and the boys, talking favourite Instagram images, memories and the ever-growing relationship she has with the music and online world.

How does being a Mum of two successful, talented boys feel?

I feel so blessed – I am probably the luckiest person in the world! It is so fulfilling to see two people you love pursuing their dreams and exploring their talents and giving back to the world! I am so proud of the men they have become!

What photos best sum up your experience on your recent tour with Mac and the boys? How would you describe your relationship with them?

It was the best! I can’t put it into words, but here are some photos and a video that I think best show some of my experience with Mac and the boys on tour!

What’s the best photo you’ve been tagged in by a fan?

It would have to be the photo of me crowd surfing at Baby’s Alright in New York!

Are there any places, bands or people you’d love to Instagram?

Mostly all the folk from Laneway Festival, just more and more Australian bands! I’d love to snap up Courtney Barnett, Pond, The Cherry Dolls, to name a few. Oh, and The Sh-Shakes in Vancouver! Also, I’d love to Instagram Future Islands, HomeShake, Michael Rault, The Murlocs, Benjamin Booker, Dune Rats and Angel Olsen. Can I just say that there are so many great bands in Australia? I have to mention Scott and Charlene’s Wedding, The Twerps and what about King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard – I would love to Instagram all the people at the same time!

For places, I’d love to take pictures of Italy, France, well let’s be honest, all of Europe actually! Of course, the rest of Australia and South America. I have a great burning curiosity to see as much of this beautiful world as I possibly can!

Do you have any guilty pleasure follows on Instagram?

My guilty pleasure on Instagram is following Matthew Gray Gubler who plays Spencer on Criminal Minds…. I think he is brilliant, talented and completely gorgeous! Also, Alex Calder is pretty funny on Instagram!

In her positive ways, Agnes parts her emails sweetly, a message to which can be taken to all those who support their family. ‘If you need anything further, just let me know, I’m happy to help out anytime. Thanks for your interest and your support of my son – it’s awesome! Love Agnes.’
