In its 26 years, the iconic multi-day folk festival Bluesfest Byron Bay has never served up a line-up announcement this far in advance of its Autumn festivities, but the 27th instalment has just been announced, and its clear that organisers just couldn’t hold the excitement any longer, and with a lineup this good, it’s completely understandable!

The 2016 Bluesfest will run for five days from the 24th to the 28th of March next year just north of Byron Bay, serving up the best in blues, roots, folk, contemporary and world music at Australia’s most beloved hippie-boho capital.

This week’s Round 1 reveal is sure to spark a huge initial reaction with the announcement of massive international sensation The National in their Bluesfest exclusive show of the Australian visit. Joining them will be fellow soft-rockers City And Colour, jazz-gospel supergroup The Word, world-wide lineup junkies The Cat Empire, beloved Bluefest returnee Joe Bonamassa, just to name a few with plenty more to be announced in upcoming weeks.
