Perth MC Drapht (Paul Reid) has just dropped a new single and video after recently being announced on a string of festivals across this great southern land. Plain, boring old Paul, has dropped ‘All Love’ which is taken from his long-awaited album Seven Mirrors. ‘All Love’ is full of energy and real feel good song; something that Drapht does so well. Full of brass, beats and his iconic vocals and rhymes the song will have you tapping your feet in no time.
“‘All Love’ was one of the first songs I wrote for the album, and it’s about a girl I was really into, that a few other guys happened to be into simultaneously. I was running the restaurant at that particular moment and the only time I had to write was while I was working on the kitchen-pass delegating duties and calling dockets; I was basically the crazy mumbling guy, with my headphones in, constantly asking my staff about pop references. Production wise this started with Trials and I in Adelaide – I ended up bringing it home to have a bunch of my friends replay the instrumentation – then Styalz Fuego put it together with the help of Nic Martin.“
The video accompanying the clip is an animation of a series of different illustrations done by the same artist who did the pack shot for the track.
“We had a tight two-week deadline to have something finished, without an artist locally that was able to complete something within the timeframe. So I started frantically searching abroad and came across this Russian kid Ivan Prokhorov on Instagram. It was Ivan’s first clip, but we created an email trail of terrible reference images and a dialogue of barely legible broken English, and somehow pulled it together. Great guy, amazing artist; Stoked we got to work together.”
