Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art MONA, is ready to light up the night with the announcement of the 2015 art and music extravaganza Dark Mofo.

Opening Friday June 12, and coinciding with the museum’s major curatorial exhibition Private Archaeology by Marina Abramović, the 10-day winter festival will see over 250 performances from dozens of artists both local and abroad, on a multifaceted platform of art, theatre, music and culture.

Not limiting itself to the white walls of the gallery, this year Dark Mofo invites you to explore Tasmania’s wider community, and take part in a heap of explorative initiatives including: a National Park camp-out with Wild at Heart, educational conversations at creative thinking hub The Hothouse, and a five-night food-lover’s dream, complete with cosy fire and live entertainment at Winter Feast.

The Festival will build to its final night of creative expression with the annual Nude Solstice Swim at sunrise, after the longest night of the year. The coming together of like-minded individuals will take place at the end of the winter solstice on June 22, inviting participants to enlighten their inner shadows, depriving themselves of all clothing and inhibitions.
