From the mind of Daniel Gough and the controversial theatre group, The Suicide Ensemble bring you The Reality Event: Suicide + Game as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2015 at the Tuxedo Cat from the 24th – 29th September 2015.

The Reality Event has been called, “A precursor to what theatre is about to become,” (Absolute Theatre 2015): an immersive performance experiment; a tense and extremely visceral exploration of the ever-blurring line between reality and construction. The Suicide Ensemble invites you to indulge in competition and witness grisly acts of violence in two back-to- back theatre events.

Led by Daniel Gough, The Suicide Ensemble present this has a performance experiment, a culmination of over a year’s work. Together these 7 artists make work which obliterates the boundaries between theatre and its audience with astounding results, from devastating to uplifting.

On the highly controversial nature of the work, Gough has stated, “It’s something to be both nervous and excited about. Every audience copes with it differently but always passionately. In truth, it’s actually impossible to know how it will go.”

This is Gough’s second appearance at the Melbourne Fringe, following 2014’s MONSTER, which was met with critical acclaim and shaking nerves; a trademark of Gough’s work.
